Fleet Team

We are one of the smaller teams within FMS but one with a large contribution to make. Our team prepares our fleet of 4-Motion VW T5 and Renault Ambulances, which are bespoke conversions and are all equipped with a rugged stretcher, scoop stretchers, suction and AED, with carry-chairs and response bags, which are all prepared and sealed before use. These are stripped and cleaned and made ready before and after every event. We also have a stores van and a support trailer.

Part of our remit is to make sure all items that go with the fleet are serviced regularly and to this end we do not just meet up at events but at least quarterly to maintain the fleet to the best possible standard we can

To join us you must have a full UK driving license with no more then six points and be prepared to work outside main events. You will be expected to help deliver vehicles and collect them from site and you are welcome to enjoy the event after you arrive. We welcome volunteers with all backgrounds, especially those with mechanical experience and a good sense of humor! Full training on the make ready process will be given to all new volunteers.

Membership

The FMS Responder team receives a large number of applications each year, a number that increases year on year. The First Responder Team aims to respond to applicants in 4 weeks. Recruitment continues throughout the year although during the event season (May – September) it may take longer than 4 weeks to hear about your application.
